Why go
Iguazu Falls is a system of waterfalls on the border between Brazil and Argentina, inside a national park listed as a World Heritage Site. The Brazilian side gives the panoramic view; the Argentine side has the trails that run above and beside the falls.
When to go
The falls can be visited all year. In summer (December to February) the water volume is usually higher, with heat and rain. March to May and August to October are more pleasant for walking.
How long to stay
Three days is the classic itinerary: one for the Brazilian side, one for the Argentine side and one for Itaipu.
Getting there
Foz do Iguaçu International Airport (IGU) receives direct flights from São Paulo and other Brazilian cities.
